The nursery theme is based on a book of poems from the 1920's by Mary Cicely Barker called Flower Fairies of the Garden. My (Amelia's) mom used to read the book to me when I was a little girl, so decorating the nursery with this theme was a way to incorporate some of Grandma Bette into Maya's life. I framed pictures from the book of little ballerina-like fairies holding various flowers and painted a small garden mural. Sophia (Maya's Yia-Yia) bought some other flower fairy decorations too! The wall paint color is even called fairy dust.
